Vascular resistance and resilience in ALS – an ultrahigh-resolution 7T MRI study of the motor cortex

In this grant we apply our recently developed VDM approach (DFG funded project) to assess vascular resistence and resilience in ALS patients. Since the motor cortex has different arterial supply patterns (see our review), we expect patients robust vessel patterns to show less motor function decline than patient with sparse vasculature, similar to what we have show for CSVD patients and hippocampal vessel patterns.
